[CCA] Saturday Reset - Issue #028 - You're not slower. You're being outsourced.

Hi Reader,

Four days ago the ACM door opened on https://curiochat.ai/. Engineers walked in. The early conversations have been clarifying in a way I didn’t expect — and the pattern I’m watching inside that cohort has almost nothing to do with code.

It has to do with you.

What I’m Seeing

The engineers showing up for ACM are not the ones I pictured. I imagined “AI enthusiasts.” What I’m actually meeting are mid-career professionals who are quietly worried that their own judgment is slipping.

They’re not worried about being replaced. They’re worried about a subtler thing: that they’re shipping faster work that’s a little less theirs each month, and they can’t quite prove it, and they can’t quite stop it.

That’s a solopreneur problem too. I’ve been getting the same signal in replies to these newsletters for months.

Mini Insight

There’s a specific trap AI sets for people who do knowledge work. It’s not that AI writes badly. It’s that AI writes good enough — and “good enough” is precisely the level at which you stop noticing what you would have written instead.

You’re not slower. You’re being outsourced to yourself.

The first draft you used to struggle with? It arrives in thirty seconds now. The email you’d have agonized over? Done. The proposal you’d have rewritten three times? Acceptable on attempt one.

Every one of those is a small win. Together, they’re a slow drift. The shape of your thinking starts to match the shape of the tool, not the other way around.

The Sharpness Audit (≤5 minutes)

Pick one piece of work you shipped this week where AI helped.

Read it with fresh eyes. Now answer, honestly:

  1. Would I have written this a year ago? If yes — good. You’re steering the tool.
  2. If no, could I have done better without AI? If yes — you’re drifting. The convenience is costing you reps you used to take.
  3. Could I have written this at all without AI? If no — the tool isn’t augmenting you. It’s thinking for you. That’s not leverage. That’s dependency.

One question isn’t a verdict. But do this audit on five pieces of work and a pattern emerges.

Stop — this counts.

Your Pattern Tweak

Each type has a specific sharpness risk:

  • Architect: Outsources the structure. Are you designing, or approving?
  • Surfer: Outsources the instinct. “Picking” has replaced “writing.”
  • Keeper: Outsources the standard. The bar drifts to average.
  • Pilot: Outsources the decision. You’re choosing among AI options instead of generating your own.

(Don’t know your type? Reply “quiz” and I’ll send you the link.)

Why I’m Telling You This

Because the program I’m opening for you on May 26 — AI-Powered Solopreneur — is designed around exactly this problem.

Most AI courses help you use AI faster. That’s the easy half. The harder half — the half almost nobody teaches — is how to use it faster and stay sharp.

That’s what AIS does. The implementation system is real. The sovereignty layer is the thing that makes it not-another-AI-course.

If you want first access, founding-cohort pricing, and the early-bird framing when enrollment opens, reply “solo” and you’re on the list.

P.S.: If the sharpness audit made you uncomfortable, that’s the signal. Uncomfortable is useful. Numb is the problem.

Hi Reader,Two and a half days. By Tuesday morning the founding price is gone — $297 becomes $497, and the direct-reply line I built into the founding stack closes with it. Let me make this clean. What Closes Monday Night Mon Jun 8, 11:59pm ET. Three things end at that moment: Founding price. $297 on AIS, $297 on Stay Sharp. Tuesday Jun 9 at 6am ET, both step up to $497 standard. The direct-reply line. Thirty days of “I’m stuck on this” email access to me — that’s the founding-cohort bonus,...

Hi Reader,The door’s been open since Tuesday. You wouldn’t know it from your inbox — no countdown, no “act now,” no three-emails-a-day. I wanted to tell you properly first. And this week I added something to the founding offer big enough that I want you to hear it from me, not stumble onto it at checkout. First, a pattern A productivity pattern you have to remember is a pattern you’ll eventually drop. Not because you’re undisciplined — because remembering is work, and work that depends on...
